The Al Safi Dairy Farm was initiated with the goal of improving the lives of Al Safi consumers and looking after the nutritional needs of their families.
Since the inception of Al Safi in 1981, it has made sweeping changes in the dairy industry. Today, it is one of the most respected companies in the world, and one of the few organizations worldwide that specialize in the manufacturing, marketing and distribution of dairy products.
We have been fortunate to serve this prestigious client since 2005, when it first approached us for the redesign and development of a website – in both Arabic and English languages – that would better portray its public image and thus contribute to its sales in the market.
A year later, in 2006, Al Safi was back to request for a 7 Benefits site that would educate its customers about the benefits to health contained in their products. A game was included to entice children as a part of their target audience.
A questionnaire was used to gain an insight into the current public image of the client and to know about the objectives and target audience as well as the design and functional requirements of the site. Additional requirements about the use of flash on the homepage, the languages and the deadline were also gathered. Read more
A splash screen was first designed and modified based on the client’s feedback. Different sections of the homepage – the top and side panels and the center were designed separately before starting with the homepage design. The homepage design was also modified several times before approval from the client, and followed by the design of the sub-page.
The pages of the site were developed, implemented and integrated with HTML and JavaScript, while ASP, DHTML, SQL and Java were used for all database-driven sections. An ASP control panel was added for ease in maintaining and updating the dynamic sections of the site. Forms were also developed in HTML and ASP. The site was responsive on different sizes of desktop screens.
Different versions of an interactive flash animation, with a background music, were made for the introduction. The animation gave the user an option to go to the English and Arabic versions of the site. The user was also able to “Skip” the animation as it played.
All files of the site were delivered to the client on a CD. Once again, EBOX proudly announced the successful launch of the new site.
The requirements of the website and the game were gathered. A website was needed to give an overview about the company and its products, along with the benefits of the products and recipes to prepare them. A game was to be developed and added to the website.
Buttons were designed for use on the site, with both English and Arabic text. Pages of the site were designed and then modified on the client’s feedback, if needed, until approved.
The site involved two static pages – one with a brief description about Al Safi and its yoghurts, the other with a list of products with a brief description on each; and several dynamic pages. An Al Safi 7 Benefits Yoghurt utility was developed which gave a brief about Al Safi and revealed benefits of the products on rollover. Other dynamic pages developed were a “Contact Us” page with contact information and a form, a database-driven “Downloads” page from where Al Safi 7 Benefits TVC, wallpapers and screensavers could be viewed and downloaded; a “Yoghurt Recipes” page and a page with a children’s game.
The site was developed with HTML, JavaScript, HTML, ASP and Java.
A timed game was developed with flash and added to the website, in which points were scored for catching packs of yoghurts but lost for catching junk food.
We were once again approached in 2019 for the enhancement to the website of Alsafi Danone – a landing page to highlight the Alsafi brand and to introduce a cooking competition arranged by the client. The content of the page was written in both Arabic and English languages.
A landing page was needed on the website that would explain the competition, in which each participate will be awarded a recipe booklet. The landing page was to contain a description of the competition, as well as information about how to participate, the duration of the competition, the awards, “Rules & Conditions” and a link to the booklet.
The landing page was to be completed before the start of Ramadan.
Based on further requirements required via email and phone calls, the page was designed with a theme to reflect a cooking competition, following the examples of Goody Kitchenand Nestlé. Images of Alsafi products were added, as well as further images provided by the client.Read more
Despite changes in requirements, our team successfully managed to finalize and publish the landing page on the website of Alsafi Danone, two weeks before the start of Ramadan.
A site needs to be constantly maintained and updated after its launch. This is an incredibly challenging task for large-scale commercial businesses like Al Safi Danone. EBOX® was delighted to be assigned the maintenance of this worthy client’s websites ever since the first successful launch in 2006. We are constantly upgrading the plugins on the website.
It was a memorable experience.
